Krystle Reagan, DVM, PhD, DACVIM - Co-Director
Dr. Reagan is an assistant professor of small animal internal medicine in the Department of Medicine & Epidemiology. She earned her PhD in Microbiology and DVM from Colorado State University. Prior to joining the faculty at UC Davis, she completed an internship at VCA West Lost Angeles Animal Hospital as well as a residency and a fellowship at UC Davis. Dr. Reagan is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (SAIM). Her research interests and expertise are in bacterial and fungal infectious diseases of small animals, and in the development and applications of artificial intelligence/machine learning algorithms to diagnosing small animal infectious diseases and endocrine disorders.
Robert Rebhun, DVM, PhD, DACVIM - Co-Director
Dr. Rebhun is a professor of oncology in the Department of Surgical & Radiological Sciences. He earned his DVM from Cornell University and a PhD from the UT Houston/M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Prior to beginning his academic career at UC Davis, Dr. Rebhun completed a residency at Colorado State University. He is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Oncology). His main research interest is in the biology and therapy of cancer metastasis, with a specialty emphasis in comparative and translational oncology.
Tamar Cohen-Davidyan - Angel Weill Supervisor of Clinical Trials Coordination
Ms. Cohen-Davidyan returned to UC Davis after several years working on clinical trials in Oklahoma City. Her BS in Animal Science & Management, MS in Animal Biology and extensive research lab work, all at UC Davis, give Tamar a deep understanding of veterinary science. She guides the VCCT team in clinical trial management including regulations and industry requirements, protocol development, and data quality review.
Brittany M. Smith - Clinical Trial Coordinator
Ms. Smith is one of the clinical trial coordinators at the Veterinary Center for Clinical Trials. While attending high school and college, she worked as a veterinary technician at a small animal clinic for a little over six years. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biological Sciences from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo in 2012. Following graduation, she moved to northern California and began work as a chemist for an environmental laboratory for three and half years. In 2016, she joined UC Davis’s Equine Analytical Chemistry Laboratory as a chemist for three years. In 2019, she joined the UC Davis Veterinary Center for Clinical Trials as a clinical trial coordinator.
Jully Pires, RVT - Clinical Trial Coordinator
While attending junior college, she was a technician assistant at a private veterinary practice in Modesto. Ms Pires acquired her Registered Veterinary Technician license in 2011 and graduated from University of California, Davis with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology, with emphasis in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior. After graduating, she worked as a technician in emergency care, dentistry, general practice and specialty surgery while employed at VCA Loomis Basin and then as a laboratory research assistant at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine under Dr. Chen Gilor. In 2019, Ms. Pires joined the UC Davis Veterinary Center for Clinical Trials team as a clinical trial coordinator.
Jacque Young, RVT - Clinical Trial Coordinator
In 1994, Ms. Young started as a veterinary assistant in a general practice in Northern California. She then came to work at the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital as a patient care technician and then as a radiation technician in Radiation Oncology for 7 years. Ms. Young then moved to medical oncology for the next ten years until joining the Veterinary Center for Clinical Trials team as a clinical trial coordinator in 2019.
Amy Rose - Clinical Trial Coordinator
Ms. Rose graduated from Carrington College California in 2014 earning an Associate of Science Degree in Veterinary Technology. She has been employed at the UC Davis VMTH since 2015 working in patient care for 8 years, then joined Veterinary Center for Clinical Trials team as a clinical trial coordinator in 2023. She has a passion for all animals since a young age, from horses to cats, and loves working with them.
Maggie Gonzalez- Financial Analyst
Ms. Gonzales is an analyst with many years' experience supporting programs at UC Davis. She works in the VCCT to manage funding programs and sponsor invoicing and provides policy guidance.
